Biography

Dr. Mehmet Akif BUYUKBESE is an MD, Consultant Diabetologist, and Professor of Internal Medicine at Gaziantep Islam Science and Technology University. He graduated from Istanbul University and obtained a USMLE certificate in the USA, where he was offered an Endocrinology Fellowship at Wayne State University. He completed clinical observerships and research activities in the USA and UK, including at MD Anderson Cancer Center and University of Leicester. He has contributed extensively to diabetes education, Diabetes and Ramadan guidelines, and community health projects in Turkey. Dr. Mehmet Akif BUYUKBESE has over 200 scientific publications and has contributed to several diabetes related books as an author, co editor, and translator.
