Biography

Dr. Azam Bolhassani is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Hepatitis and AIDS at the Pasteur Institute of Iran. She holds a rich academic background, beginning with a Diploma in Mathematics and Physics Sciences from Tehran, followed by dual B.Sc. degrees in Biology from Tehran University and Chemistry from Central Tehran University. She further pursued her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Biochemistry at Tarbiat Modarres University, Tehran, Iran. Following her doctoral studies, Dr. Bolhassani completed her postdoctoral research in the “Molecular Immunology and Vaccine Research” Laboratory at the Pasteur Institute of Iran, where she continues to contribute as a leading researcher and educator. Her research primarily focuses on immunotherapy and chemotherapy, delivery systems and nanoparticles, adjuvants, and vaccine design against HPV and HIV. She also has significant expertise in immunoinformatics analysis and cell-penetrating peptides, contributing to advancements in molecular vaccine development. With an impressive H-index of 33 (Scopus), Dr. Bolhassani has published numerous impactful papers and played a vital role in shaping the field of molecular immunology and vaccine research in Iran and beyond. Her contributions continue to inspire innovation in biomedical research, particularly in the development of novel vaccines and therapeutic strategies.
