Biography

Dr. Arun Sharma is a distinguished forensic science expert with more than 37 years of experience in forensic biology, serology, DNA analysis, and crime scene investigation. He served as Director of Forensic Services, Himachal Pradesh from 2012 to 2021 and played a major role in modernizing forensic infrastructure in the state. He established Regional Forensic Science Laboratories, introduced advanced forensic technologies including DNA analysis, digital forensics, voice analysis, and 3D laser crime scene scanning, and led NABL accreditation initiatives for forensic laboratories. He earned his MSc in Forensic Science from Punjabi University Patiala and completed his PhD in Forensic Science from Panjab University Chandigarh. He also received National Fellowship support from the Ministry of Home Affairs and a Post Doctoral Fellowship from CSIR Government of India. Dr. Sharma has examined thousands of forensic cases, provided expert testimony in courts, published more than 60 scientific papers, and presented research at national and international conferences including IAFS and AFSN meetings. He has served as Professor and Adjunct Faculty in several universities and is currently associated with the National Forensic Sciences University Uganda Campus.
