Biography
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halide Nihal Acikgoz is a Turkish forensic biologist and academic at Ankara University Institute of Forensic Sciences. She specializes in forensic biology, forensic entomology, forensic entomotoxicology, and molecular identification of insects relevant to criminal investigations. Dr. Acikgoz earned her PhD in Forensic Biology from Ankara University and has more than three decades of academic and research experience. Her work focuses on postmortem interval estimation, forensic DNA analysis, insect-based forensic evidence, and crime scene investigations. She has published over 90 scientific papers, book chapters, and conference presentations in national and international journals. Dr. Acikgoz is also an active member of the European Association for Forensic Entomology and has contributed significantly to the advancement of forensic entomology research in Turkiye.
