Biography
Shalini Prasad received her Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University of Madras in 2000. She obtained her PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of California Riverside in 2004. Dr. Prasad's research interests are multi-disciplinary. They include Bio-Micro Electrical Mechanical Systems (Bio-MEMS), nano-devices and nano/biotechnology. Her work has been reported in number of peer reviewed journals and popular press. She is the recipient of a number of awards in the area of nano-biotechnology.
Research Interest
Developing "lab-on-a-chip" based devices for sensing applications that impact such areas as medical diagnostics, the environment, and bio-defense applications.
