Dr. Zheng Chen got his PhD degree in cell biology from Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2009. He currently holds a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at University of Michigan. His research focus is to understand 1) how signaling pathways regulate insulin secretion and insulin biosynthesis in pancreatic islets, 2) how signaling pathways regulate glucose and lipid metabolism in the liver.
Dr. Chen is research interests include meta-analysis, GWAS, Ca2+ regulation, insulin secretion, insulin biosynthesis, glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, inflammation, diabetes, obesity and hepatocytes biology.
