Biography
Joydip Sengupta received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (Materials Science Centre), with earlier degrees in Electronic Science from the University of Calcutta. He has held research/teaching roles at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics and the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, and currently serves as Assistant Professor at Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri College under the University of Calcutta. Dr Sengupta is an established experimental materials scientist specializing in nanomaterials, sensors, and electronic device engineering. His research spans graphene and related 2D materials, CNTs, ZnO, SiC, and nano–bio interfaces, with extensive contributions to analytical biosensing, transparent electronics, sustainable nanotechnology, and lab-on-chip platforms. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Trends in Analytical Chemistry, Carbon, Journal of Energy Storage, Green Analytical Chemistry, Microchimica Acta, Nanoscale, Materials Research Bulletin, Bioelectrochemistry, Biosensors, etc. He is a recipient of a senior research fellowship and research associateship from the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, India and served as Principal Investigator of the projects funded by both the Government of India and the State Government of West Bengal. His membership in the Materials Research Society of India further reflects his professional standing.
