Biography

Dr Ain Aqilah Basirun is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia UPM specializing in environmental biotechnology, wastewater treatment, adsorption technology, and environmental monitoring. She obtained her PhD in Environmental Biotechnology from UPM in 2022. Her research focuses on the development of sustainable biosorbents from agricultural waste, functionalized ionic liquids for heavy metal removal, adsorption modeling, and biomarker applications in aquatic ecotoxicology. Dr Ain Aqilah has published extensively in reputable international journals and has led and contributed to research projects on wastewater remediation, microplastic biodegradation, and machine learning applications in environmental systems. Her work aims to advance sustainable and innovative solutions for environmental pollution management and water treatment technologies.
