Biography

Dr. Mojtaba Moghaddasi is a highly skilled optical engineer and researcher specializing in the design and development of advanced optical systems. He is currently a Ph.D. Researcher and Optical Designer at Beijing Institute of Technology, China, where his doctoral research focuses on the design and fabrication of wide-angle metalenses. Dr. Moghaddasi earned his Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology (2021–2025), his M.Sc. in Photonics from the University of Kashan, Iran (2014–2016), and his B.Sc. in Optical and Laser Engineering from Malek Ashtar University of Technology, Iran (2010–2014). His master’s thesis explored electron acceleration in plasma-filled waveguides, while his undergraduate thesis focused on the design and fabrication of optical fiber sensors for temperature and pressure measurement. Professionally, he has held positions as Project Manager and Photonics Researcher at Electro Delta Shargh Company (2015–2016) and as Project Manager and Optoelectronic Designer at Parto Gostar Co., Tehran University Science & Technology Park (2016–2021). Dr. Moghaddasi’s expertise spans metalens and nano-optics design, imaging system development across visible, near-infrared, and mid-wave infrared spectra, reflective-type optical fiber sensors, fiber lasers, free-space optical communication, high-uniformity illumination systems, nano-optic capsule endoscopy, and laser beam expanders. His work bridges theoretical optical design and practical system fabrication, contributing to innovations in both research and applied photonics.
