Biography

Dr. Xiaohou Shao received a PhD degree in 1996 in Nanjing Agricultural University and now is professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering, Hohai University, Nanjing, China. He served as the director of the Facility Agriculture Professional Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Society of Agricultural Engineering, a member of the Saline-Alkali Land Improvement Professional Committee of the Soil Science Society of China, a council member of the Soil Science Society of Jiangsu Province, and a member of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). He has long been engaged in the researches on agricultural biological environmental engineering, antibiotics wastwater treatment, degraded soil remediation by microorganism technology, and the protection of agricultural water and soil environments. He has led more than 100 research projects, including projects supported by the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, public-interest research programs administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Water Resources, key projects of the Ministry of Education, and the 948 projects of the Ministry of Water Resources. Furthermore, he has received 13 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology progress awards, and has published more than 260 high-level academic papers, obtained over 60 authorized invention patents, published over 10 monographs and books, and has supervised over 100 doctoral and master's students.
