Biography
Dr. Rabab Kamel Mahmoud is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology) at the National Research Centre (NRC), Cairo, Egypt, where she currently serves as the Deputy of the Pharmaceutical and Drug Industries Research Institute and a Member of the International Relations Office. She previously served as the Head of the Pharmaceutical Technology Department (2019–2025) and held several academic leadership positions within the NRC. Dr. Mahmoud obtained her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Pharmaceutics from Cairo University, with research focused on transdermal drug delivery systems. Over the past two decades, she has established an internationally recognized research program in pharmaceutical technology, nanomedicine, advanced drug delivery systems, biomaterials, tissue engineering, and pharmaceutical formulation development. She has led and participated in numerous nationally and internationally funded research projects involving nanotechnology-based drug delivery, tissue engineering, wound healing, pharmaceutical biomaterials, and the utilization of natural products and agricultural waste for pharmaceutical applications. Her research has resulted in an extensive publication record in high-impact international journals, several book chapters, patents, and invited keynote lectures. Dr. Mahmoud has received numerous prestigious awards, including the National Award of Medicines and Medicinal Products, the Scientific Excellence Award in Medical Sciences, and recognition among Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists for multiple consecutive years. She actively contributes to the scientific community as an editor, editorial board member, reviewer, and scientific committee member for several international journals and conferences.
