Dr. Atsushi Saito is presently working as a Medical chief in the Department of Neurosurgery, National Hospital Organization Sendai Medical Center, Japan. He has received several honors and awards for his excellence in research. He has authored a number of articles were published in international journals.

1. Effect and mechanisms of free radicals on neuronal cell damage due to cerebral infarction and cerebral trauma. 2. Biology and molecular mechanisms of neuronal cell death and survival. 3. Biology and molecular mechanisms of brain edema due to cerebral infarction and brain contusion. 4. Gene therapy for cerebral vascular diseases and cerebral trauma. 5. Molecular biology of benign brain tumor.
