Biography

Pr. Riadh GOUIDER is Professor in Neurology and head of Department of Neurology and Alzheimer center at Razi hospital in Tunis, Tunisia. He is graduated in Neurophysiology from Paris VI University (Salpetriere Hospital). Pr. Riadh GOUIDER is Regional Director of the World Federation of Neurology for the Pan African Region, President Elect of the PAANS (Pan African Association of Neurological Societies) and coordinator of the Mediterranean Group in the EFNS. He has Vice President of the Tunisian Association Against Epilepsy. He has served on a variety of commissions, boards and societies in the field of Neurology, Epilepsy, Medical Informatics and Telemedicine. He is an Advisory Board Member for Neurosciences journal. He is member of the commission of continuous formation in the World Federation of Neurology (WFN) and member of the French Society of Neurology (SFN) and of the French Society for Research in clinical neurophysiology (ARN). He is founder member of the Maghrebian Federation of Neurology. He was head of the project CMCU: «Clinical and genetic study of autosomal recessive idiopathic epilepsies » Franco-Tunisian cooperation (07G 0806). He received several awards (American Academy of Neurology, JNLF, Maghrebian Federation of neurology...). He authored and co-authored more than 80 original papers and book chapters espacially on genetic of epilepsy.

Research Interest

- Epilepsy, with a main focus on neurophysiology and genetic of epilepsies, especially, familial forms of idiopathic epilepsies, recessive epilepsies and Unverricht Lundborg Disease. - Multiple Sclerosis, with an axed research on epidemiology and clinical specificities in Tunisia, Maghreb and Arab world. - Dementia, with four key research areas: epidemiology of dementia in Tunisia, early and young onset dementia, neuropsychological assessment and risk factors.
