Biography

Mr. Crouch received a B.S. degree from Western IL University, Macomb, IL, in 1971; received graduate training at Purdue University and the University of IL in Biology and at the University of Utah, 1980-1981 in Biochemistry and Pharmacology; and received a M.B.A. degree from Utah State University, Logan, Utah, 1989. Mr. Crouch joined Aegis Sciences Corporation in July, 2008 as the Associate Director for Sports Testing Services and later served as the Director of Research and Business Development. Previously, he served as the Director of Research & Development at Ameritox, Ltd in Midland, TX. He was employed by the Center for Human Toxicology/Sports Medicine Research & Testing Laboratory at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City from 1977 until he retired in 2007. At the University he was a Research Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Director of the Sports Medicine Research & Testing Lab and a Co-Director at the Center for Human Toxicology. From May, 1990 through November, 1991 he was a visiting scientist at the National Institute on Drug Abuse - Division of Applied Research in Rockville, Maryland where he was responsible for administrative aspects of the National Laboratory Certification Program for Forensic laboratories and continuing research into the impact of occupational drug testing on drug use patterns, transportation safety and business. Mr. Crouch has published over 100 peer reviewed scientific articles and presented over 90 scientific papers in the areas of mass spectrometry, on-site drug testing, sports medicine, therapeutic drug monitoring, analytical toxicology, forensic toxicology, drugs and driving, and workplace drug testing. He serves as an inspector for multiple accreditation programs and routinely provides expert witness consultation in mass spectrometry, DUI, medical examiner, probation and parole and a variety of medico legal cases. He is a past member of the Drug Testing Advisory Board for SAMHSA, workplace testing.

Research Interest

Alcohol and other drug use in the workplace and transportation safety, sports medicine testing, evaluating the impact of workplace testing programs on businesses, monitoring of laboratories performing workplace testing and GC/MS and LC/MS analyses of performance enhancing and other abused drugs.
